It was a Mini Cooper S Roadster convertible with all the factory JCW trimmings you could imagine, finished in gunmetal grey sporting black viper stripes with a post box red pinstripe detail and carbon fibre wing mirrors, she was quick, charging in at 184 bhp @ the engine and weighing in at the ton mark, what more could possibly be gained from this pocket rocket? EVERYTHING! Is the answer, everything you didnt know it could do was only a Lancashire Remap away.The roadster has all the looks of the JCW, steering wheel, door sills, body kit, popping twin outlets and the wind break to keep the tail planted anything after 47 mph, but was always missing something under acceleration, she would bounce on the limiter at 6.0k and jerk low down in higher gears if not lower in the rev range, but now all is forgiven, BMW Mini had left a little a something hiding beneath the bonnet in the 1600cc turbo charged and over boost enabled engine, something that had the ability to wipe the floor with sports cars many classes and pay grades above the little roadster, something that would show the whites of the eyes of the M4 lined up at the lights and keep you well on the tail of any Porsche, that little gift is now a reality thanks to Paul at Lancashire Remapping. Thanks to his expertise this mini roadster is now in warp speed mode if you fancy a blast, and by blast I mean just that, you half expect jet pack afterburners to light up via the twins at the back now when a newly found 217 bhp punches through a perfect fuelling set up into the jets and ignites a rawcus crackle and pop deep in the rib cage and propels you forward with the tail pinned to the black stuff and the front end lifting up to give you a kiss before pushing you back into your seat with a G force hola wound on to 8k rpm and shouting hasta la vista mother fuckers! Phew. And then that buzz, the buzz we all crave as petrol heads, now Im a self-confessed bike nut, but will honestly stand in front of you with a heavy heart and confess, this Mini Cooper S Roadster is about as near to a bike but on four 18inch JCW rims as a car gets and just like many class leading superbikes this pocket rocket sits happily in 4th at 40 smooth as silk, grinning at you, after shes just given you the biggest speed freak smile you were looking for and then she winks at you, as the road opens up again and we do it all again (wink)To summarise: If you desire more from your vehicular investment in the power band, better fuel use, smoother drivability and believe your motor deserves its full potential releasing, you dont have far to go, youve just found that very solution here in Lancashire Remapping.
